During July the classic story of 'Annie' was brought to
life for the community of St. Monica’s. Over 3 nights 2000 people were
entertained by great SMC talent who performed the college’s third musical in as
many years. Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre played host to this massive
project that involved 200 students, 20 staff members and many parents, all
working together to make 'Annie' the successful show it was.

For the first time a junior student played the lead role.
Emily Vincent, from Year 8, made her musical debut, wowing audiences with her
portrayal of the young orphan Annie. She played alongside a star studded cast
including Sophia Monkiewicz as Miss Hannigan, Chirs Cardamone as Oliver Warbucks
and Emma D'Agostino as Grace Farrell.

DRC students were a feature this year filling up the chorus as Orphans and
gaining the experience needed to be able to play lead roles in the future. Our
DSC students polished the show off with their comic timing and musical theatre
know-how. More students than ever were involved in the band and some new faces
assisted in the backstage crew. The students will meet for one final time in
August as they celebrate at the 'Annie' reunion.

St. Monica’s College, Epping is becoming well known in the theatre community for
producing high level musicals. As we move forward the challenge will be to
continue the excellence we have shown in the last three years. To the cast, crew
and band of 'Annie' congratulations on what was a fantastic show. We hope you
enjoyed the journey. We are looking forward to working with you all in 2008.
