RESTORATIVE PRACTICES
Restorative Practices at St Monica's College in
2008
St Monica’s College has adopted
Restorative Practices as the means by which Pastoral Care and Discipline will be
administered in the school. Restorative Justice Practices is a whole school
approach which has been developed by the Marist Youth Care group based in NSW.
As a philosophy, Restorative Justice provides schools with a framework of
management that moves away from the traditional punitive response. While
still providing limits and consequences, it looks for ways to repair the damaged
relationships and improve existing relationships. The
Restorative School
believes in the three R's - Relationships, Responsibility and Relevance.
