The College has an exciting
and vibrant sister school exchange program with Takada Junior and Senior High
School in Japan. Each year in March students from Takada visit St. Monica's
College for 10 days and are hosted by our families so that they can experience
the ‘Australian way of life’. Then in September of the same year students from
St. Monica’s College visit Takada High School to immerse themselves in the
Japanese culture. Students and staff are hosted by Japanese families.
This program has been of
immense value to both schools and has resulted in many lasting friendships
between students and staff. It also allows students from both countries to gain
an understanding of the different cultures and helps them to grow up to be both
citizens of their country and of the world.
At St. Monica's College we
are sure that this program will continue well into the future so that all
students can have the opportunity to explore the world and from this experience
grow into well-rounded adults.
