Hockey Institute

The Hockey Institute commenced at St Monica’s College in 2007. The program openly invites students of all ages and abilities, and develops them into knowledgeable, skilful and competent hockey players.
Traditionally the year begins with a number of “Come and Try” sessions where many students take the opportunity to try out hockey, and decide whether they wish to be involved in the action-packed program. Currently there are no selection trials to be a part of the program – everyone is welcome throughout the year, but selection trials do take place prior to tournaments.
The Hockey Institute has plans to travel and participate in a playing tour of Auckland, New Zealand. The students have the opportunity to develop their skills further through interaction and competition with varying schools from around Auckland. They also have the opportunity to experience New Zealand culture.
The Hockey Institute has plans to travel and participate in a number of tournaments and inter-state training camps. The students have the opportunity to develop their skills further through interaction and competition with varying schools from around Melbourne and Australia.
