VET certificates outside of St Monica's College

While St. Monica's College operates a large number of VET courses compared with other secondary schools, the range of certificates available within Victoria is as varied as the number of career paths within our society. Students with specific vocational interests should first speak with the Careers Centre staff for advice about VET programs which could be tailored to their needs, e.g. Horticulture, Allied Health, Conservation & Land Management.

Unlike the VCE, where courses and units remain fairly similar from year to year, VET courses are subject to continual review and reorganisation in order to keep pace with the changes that occur in each of their respective industries. For this reason, it is essential that students seek up-to-date advice from the Careers Centre, as the entrance requirements for each vocational pathway can change with little warning. The College reviews its selection of VET courses that are conducted on school premises each year in order to best meet the needs of our student body. New courses might become available that may attract sufficient interest to become viable to operate at the College, however, this decision can only be made once subject selection forms have been lodged with written expressions of interest. It is therefore important that students who want advice regarding vocational pathways consult with the Careers Centre.
