INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

St Monica's College takes seriously the need for all students to have access to contemporary computing facilities.

Netbook Program

Students of the College receive a netbook computer for their own personal use at school and at home. Further information regarding this program can be accessed via the link below

SMC Netbook Program

Wireless Computer Network

All computers have access to a high speed state of the art wireless network, which enables students and teachers to access network and internet resources from anywhere on either campus.

Specialist Computer Facilities

As well as the netbooks students have access to specialist computer pods throughout the school for use in accessing high end programs. These pods include Macintosh and PC multimedia machines, enhanced CAD notebook computers and specialist Information Technology computer laboratories.

Teaching Resources

All teaching staff have been provided with a Notebook computer for use in integrating Information Communication Technologies, ICT, in the curriculum.

Both College libraries provide access to computers as well as programs in Literacy and Numeracy in their own facilities.

All class rooms have data projectors installed so staff can provide delivery of teaching and learning using digital resources.

An expanding number of classrooms have electronic whiteboards for use by staff and students.

A dedicated eLearning department is available to staff and students for training in the use of ICT resources and assistance in the development of such resources.

All of this is complemented by a broad range of curriculum options in all subjects.
