St Monica’s Basketball Academy

In 2017 the Basketball Academy will continue to group with having a focus on developing players to play within a team structure, Strength and Conditioning and Core Strength and Sports Wellbeing Councilor. The Basketball Academy trains twice a week for each age group from year 7 to 12. The Basketball Academy will be participating in Victorian College Tournaments and playing friendly games against high ranking Secondary College through-out Melbourne of the like of the following College:

  • Albert Park Secondary College
  • Loyola College
  • Overnewton College
  • St Michael College
  • Templestowe Secondary College
  • Whittlesea Secondary College
  • Victorian College Championships
  • McDonalds Cup
  • Victorian Basketball 3 on 3 competition
  • Senior SACCSS competition
  • SACCSS Premier League Years 7 to 10

Throughout the year St Monica Basketball Academy will be conducting In-House Competitions, Teachers versus Students games, 3 point shoot-out as well as a popular school 3 on 3 competitions.

The Academy will also continue to built on what is becoming a strong relationship with both the WNBL teams and the NBL basketball teams based in Melbourne.

Students of the Basketball Academy also have the option to participate in a 5 day excursion to the Australian Institute of Sports in Canberra to be train by some of this country Elite Sporting Athletes and Coaches and a 8 day international excursion to Auckland, New Zealand to compete in the Star City Basketball Tournament.
