Update 11, 2021 on SMC Response to Coronavirus (COVID – 19)

Parents, Guardians and Carers,

Premier Daniel Andrews has announced a sixth lockdown for Victoria as from tonight, 5 August 2021 at 8.00 p.m. for seven days, ending at 8.00 p.m. on Thursday, 12 August. Thus, St Monica’s College remains closed to on site education.

Please note that as from tomorrow, all lessons will be conducted online except for Home Room; Years 7 – 10 Pastoral lessons; Year 8 Growth & Relationship classes; and Year 12 Religious Education.

As from Monday, 9 August, the Monican Minders program for Years 7 to 12 resumes. Your child will be contacted online by a Minder staff member to check on his/her wellbeing and to be the contact person between College and Home.

If a school counsellor’s advice and help is required, there will be a counsellor on site every day. Contact that person (9409 8800) and help will be forthcoming.

Supervision will be provided each day for any students who are vulnerable or have special needs that can only be accommodated onsite, and for the children of essential workers. Please book a place for your child through https://www.stmonicas-epping.com/supervision

Please be assured that onsite cleaning of the College will continue throughout the lockdown.

Do not hesitate to contact the College on 9409 8800 if you need to communicate with the College. We know that this is a most difficult time for your children and for you. The SMC staff share your situation.

Shalom – anywhere you go.

Yours faithfully,

Brian Hanley OAM
College Principal
