Update 15, 2021 on SMC Response to Coronavirus (COVID – 19)

Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,

Firstly, a happy Father’s Day wish to all the Dads in our Monican community for Sunday.  Please know that your support for your family is valued and so greatly appreciated.

Classes onsite will not resume this term.  Online classes will conclude on Thursday, 16 September.  The following day will be a school closure day for SMC.

Until then, the College continues to function in its restricted capacity.  Vulnerable students for all the reasons stated will still be eligible to attend onsite until 16 September. Please book a place for your child daily through https://www.stmonicas-epping.com/supervision

The Victorian Government has recommended that all students are vaccinated.  Our College is obliged and ready to communicate this message to students and families.

The Government has announced a vaccination blitz for final year school students, their teachers and VCE examination supervisors and assessors.  The blitz begins on 7 September and extends until Friday, 17 September.

During the blitz, final year students, their teachers and VCE examination supervisors and assessors will have access to priority timeslots to attend their vaccination appointment at a vaccination centre.

They will be able to book their first and second doses via a dedicated appointment booking hotline.  Details will be released tomorrow (Friday) by the Government and commence Monday, 6 September.

The GAT has been rescheduled to Tuesday, 5 October 2021.  Final VCE examinations will take place from Monday, 4 October until Wednesday, 17 November.

Parents and Friends, I hope that you find these updates useful.  It is a challenge for all of us at home and at school to keep up with all the Government regulations.  We all ought to pray and persevere.

Shalom – Anywhere You Go.
