Update 8, 2021 on SMC Response to Coronavirus (COVID – 19)
Parents, Guardians and Carers,
Good evening to you. I write to you for the second time this week as matters regarding COVID move so swiftly in Victoria.
The Premier of Victoria has again called a lockdown to commence at midnight this evening and to extend until midnight Tuesday, 20 July. So, there will be no on site classes at school tomorrow (Friday), Monday and Tuesday.
Instead, all classes will run remotely from Periods 1 to 6 for all year levels for the duration of this lockdown. The exceptions will be pastoral classes (Years 7 – 10) and the Year 8 Growth and Relationships lessons.
The College is organised for Monday and Tuesday next week to provide onsite supervision for students whose parents are authorised workers who cannot work from home, work for an essential provider, and no other supervision arrangements can be made. You MUST notify the College via this link https://www.stmonicas-epping.com/supervision or call 9409 8800 if this is your family’s situation.
In line with public health advice, all work placements (which includes Structured Workplace Learning and Work Experience) for Monicans are not to proceed during this lockdown. Students who are doing a School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship should follow their employer’s advice according to the industry in which they are working.
This is a blow once again to continuity in educational delivery, but the Government’s decisions must be followed as we have done throughout this COVID outbreak. God bless all Monicans.
