Update 9, 2021 on SMC Response to Coronavirus (COVID – 19)

Parents, Guardians and Carers,

Premier Daniel Andrews has announced an extension of the lockdown for Victoria until midnight on Tuesday, 27 July 2021. Thus, St Monica’s College remains closed to on site education. Remote online learning will continue until Tuesday, 27 July inclusive and we expect that onsite learning at school will resume on Wednesday, 28 July.

The GAT test for those senior students participating will be held on Thursday, 29 July. If any of this detail is changed, I shall contact you.

Please note that all classes will be conducted online except for Years 7 – 10 Pastoral lessons; Year 8 Growth & Relationship; and Year 12 Religious Education.
The College Assembly scheduled for Monday, 26 July has been cancelled so normal classes will be held online that morning.

As from tomorrow, Wednesday, 21 July, the Monican Minders program for Years 7 to 12 resumes. Your child will be contacted online by a Minder staff member to check on his/her wellbeing and to be the contact person between College and Home.

If a school counsellor’s advice and help is required, there will be a counsellor on site every day. Contact that person (9409 8800) and help will be forthcoming.
Supervision will be provided each day for any students who are vulnerable or have special needs that can only be accommodated onsite, and for the children of essential workers.

Please book a place for your child through https://www.stmonicas-epping.com/supervision

Please be assured that onsite cleaning of the College will continue meticulously.

Monican parents, please trust the College to care for your child as best as is possible in these awful times. Our committed aim is ‘To Leave No Child Behind’ during this period of COVID. Do not hesitate to contact the College on 9409 8800 if you need to communicate with the College.

Shalom – anywhere you go.

College Principal
