Dear Parents and Carers,

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has confirmed that a staff member at St Monica’s College, Epping has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).

Following advice from the DHHS and the Catholic Education Melbourne (CEM), St Monica’s College, Epping will be closed for all students from Monday, 22 June 2020 until the end of term.

Onsite learning will recommence at the College on Tuesday, 14 July 2020 for the commencement of Term 3.

This closure will allow time for the school and DHHS to undertake a full risk assessment and appropriate cleaning of the college site to occur on the recommendation of DHHS.

This includes identifying and notifying any person who has been in close recent contact with the affected staff member who has tested positive for COVID-19. Affected students, their families and college staff will be notified by the DHHS over the next 24 hours and supported to ensure they understand what actions to take.

All students are advised to remain at home while contact tracing occurs. They must limit movements to home-based activities and not attend public places.

Ensuring continuity of learning

Modified online learning will occur from Tuesday, 23 June to Friday 26, June. More details will be provided to students and families.
