Update 11 on SMC Response to Coronavirus (COVID – 19)

Parents, Guardians and Friends,

I am pleased to send you this update on how the return to school of students is going.

As you would know, the Years 11 and 12 students and Year 10 students studying VCE units returned to their classrooms on Tuesday, 26 May.  The day before, all staff returned to SMC apart from seven staff who have immunity issues as evidenced by a medical certificate.

The College was ready for everybody’s return, and I can report a smooth though cautious return.  We have increased cleaning after having undertaken a thorough clean College-wide, many clear signs have been posted around the school, sanitisers are in every room and other areas, and all the other actions taken as I reported in Update 10 have been attended to carefully.

Physical distancing has been a major matter to have in place.

Please note that Monday, 8 June is a public holiday in Victoria and all students (Years 7 – 12) return to SMC in winter uniform on Tuesday, 9 June.

Please do not hesitate to contact relevant staff if you have any matters to discuss with the school.

May the world see hope when it looks at God’s people.

May the world see the Church is not a building or steeple.

May the world find Faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection,

May the world find joy in a time of dejection.
