Update 7 on SMC Response to Coronavirus (COVID – 19)

Parents, Guardians and Friends,

I sincerely hope that you and your children and all members of your immediate family are coping with the significant demands we are all enduring in Melbourne as the fight against the Coronavirus continues.

I assure parents and guardians that your College leaders understand the unique situation you find yourself in with your child(ren) at home, learning remotely and isolated from not only their extended family members but their school friends also.  It cannot be easy for Mums and Dads to keep the family happy and remaining focussed (on their studies), giving the required attention to children of all ages, even down to little newborn babies in some instances here at SMC.

Teachers and Education School Officers are working hard to maintain the learning and pastoral care environment that your child deserves.  The staff too are experiencing most unusual and demanding situations, like you, juggling domestic duties with job responsibilities at home or on site.

I truly hope that the correspondence we have sent you regarding finances and counselling provision have made sense and demonstrate a genuine appreciation of just how tough the current times are for so many.

At St Monica’s College, Epping we shall continue to serve faithfully our students and their families until this crisis is called over by Government authorities.  Never before has our College motto ‘Pray and Persevere’ been so relevant.

When the time is declared, your children will return to onsite schooling.  Meanwhile, adults and children are in this situation together, and we must deal with it the best and most sensibly we can.

I am contactable for you to share your family stories if you wish on admin@stmonicas-epping.com.

The FAQ section on the College website may be of more practicable assistance to you.

Saint Monica, pray for us as this virus crisis continues.

Be with us and help us persevere,

As we pray for your intercession.

Bless those whose anxieties are high

And comfort those who are separated from loved ones.

Saint Monica, pray for us.
