Parents, Guardians and Carers,

In his ‘Update 5 – SMC Response to Coronavirus (COVID – 19) and Lockdown’ published yesterday, the Principal, Mr Brian Hanley indicated that I would provide information regarding examinations and the rest of Term 2.

As you are aware, lockdown restrictions will continue until 10 June.  However, students in Years 11 and 12, or their last year of VCAL, or those studying a Unit 3 /4 VCE or VCAL subject, or Year 10 students doing VCE examinations will return as scheduled on Friday 4 June.

The Year 12 students will return to classes on-site tomorrow and Unit 4 will commence on Tuesday 15 June.

The Year 11 students received their examination timetable yesterday. Their  examinations commence Friday 4 June, and finish on Thursday 17 June.  This includes any Year 10 student undertaking a Unit 1 VCE subject.

Years 7 to 10 remain in remote learning until Thursday, 10 June.

Year 10 examinations will commence when the lockdown ends on Friday June 11 and will run for a week until Friday 18 June.  The examination timetable will be sent to the students via SIMON and will be available on PAM tomorrow.

Year 9 examinations commence on Wednesday 16 June, and Year 8 examinations commence on Thursday 17 June.  They will run until Friday 18 June. An updated examination timetable will be sent via SIMON and PAM early next week.

Semester 2 for Year 7 to 10 and Unit 2 VCE will commence on Monday 21 June.

The Queen’s Birthday on Monday 14 June is a public holiday and Report Writing Day on Friday 25 June is a  student free day.  The last day of Term Two for students will therefore be Thursday 24 June.

We are aware that some students may find the following weeks stressful and the College is always available with support or assistance if required.  We urge you and your child to reach out if necessary.
