STUDY
CENTRE
The Study Centre is a popular programme with DSC students and is run in the SJQL (Sister Julian Quaine Library).
The Study Centre is dedicated to assisting students in Years 10-12 with homework, general course work and providing an environment for quiet study and research. The centre is committed in providing quality assistance to enhance student learning.
It is available Monday to Thursday from 3.25 – 5.00 pm – during term times, excluding days when students are not in attendance.
These days are advertised in advance. Alumni (tutors) who are in their first year of tertiary studies are on hand to assist and support students. These alumni (tutors) are high achievers in their chosen subjects and share their knowledge and experience of successfully completing the senior years of secondary education. and generally, have completed their time at St Monica’s College in the previous year. There may also be alumni who are in more advanced years of tertiary study, so the support provided is very strong and focussed on the needs of our current students.
Generally, there are two Alumni available, covering most subjects. They can assist with homework, researching and study skills for years 10, 11 and 12.
